Leave enough room on both sides of the columns for a technician to move freely, and make sure the lift’s swing arms have clear range of motion without hitting shelving, parts bins, or a support post. Check Your Electrical Panel Capacity Ahead of Time

Most shop truck lift power units run on 220-volt single-phase power and need a dedicated circuit sized appropriately for the motor draw — typically in the 20-30 amp range depending on the model. Older farm shops, especially ones wired decades ago primarily for lighting and a welder outlet, may not have available panel capacity for another dedicated circuit without an upgrade.

Have an electrician check your panel before you finalize your lift order, not after.
