Single phase power is what almost every residential garage in Iowa has coming into the building — 120/240V split phase, the same service that runs your dryer and water heater. Most home-storage lifts, many 2-post lifts under a certain tonnage, and most 4-post lifts we sell to individual customers are built to run on this exact supply. Commercial shops with three phase service can still run single phase lifts too; you just tap off a single phase leg rather than tying into all three.

The key number on any lift’s data tag is the motor’s voltage and amperage draw, usually listed as something like 220V/1PH with a full load amp rating.
