Owners often think the fix for a slow shop is more space. Sometimes it is, but more often the problem is that the existing footprint is arranged in a way that fights the workflow. A tire shop bay layout has to account for the full loop a wheel travels: car pulls in, gets lifted, wheels come off, tires go to the changer, then the balancer, then back onto the car. If those three stations aren’t within a few steps of each other and the lift, every job takes longer and techs get frustrated.

Pull-through bays, where a car enters one door and exits another, keep traffic moving in one direction and prevent the backing-up and re-parking that eats time in tighter shops. We recommend positioning the alignment lift at the end of a row rather than in the middle, so vehicles pulling in and out don’t cross paths with cars headed to other bays for basic tire work.
