Myth #4: Ceiling Height Doesn’t Matter Much

People routinely underestimate how much overhead clearance a raised lift actually needs. A two-post lift with a vehicle raised to comfortable working height, plus the lift’s own overhead structure if it has one, can require eleven to twelve feet of ceiling clearance or more depending on the model. A four-post lift needs similar or greater clearance since the vehicle itself sits higher off the ground on the ramps.
