Suspension work on late-model trucks and SUVs is where a low-slung lift shows its limits. Arm Reach and Pickup Points on Modern SUVs

Suspension and shock work is the ugly stepchild of arm design. Struts sit high, control-arm pinch welds are shrouded by plastic, and every OEM has moved the pickup points at least twice in the last decade. On a modern lift, that means the arm you cared about ten years ago is no longer the arm that matters. What matters now is drop-end reach and short-arm minimum length. A Rotary triple-telescoping arm gives you a 24-inch short-arm minimum and a 60-inch long-arm maximum, which lets a tech drop into an F-150 pinch weld without stacking pads.

Challenger swing arms go from about 23 inches short to 61 inches long on the CL10V3, and their drop-end rubber pads are compatible with the OE lift-point plastics on late-model Explorers and Escapes. Small numbers, but on a suspension line where torque specs and alignment holds already burn time, it adds up.

Hydraulic fluid capacity on either brand is about 3 gallons of ATF Dexron-III equivalent. We recommend changing it every 24 months on a dealership duty cycle, sooner if the bay runs hot in July. The internal cylinder seals on both brands are polyurethane and last 8 to 10 years before drift starts to show. If a cylinder drifts an inch per hour, that is a seal kit, not a full cylinder replacement, and we can turn it in an afternoon. This is one reason we push customers toward brands with stocked seal kits and no orphan parts. Downtime on a suspension bay is never cheap.

Financing Terms for a 2 Post Car Lift
