We’ve seen driveways with 3-inch slabs poured for a car, not a lift, and we’ve seen shops where the breaker panel was already maxed out before anyone thought about a 220-volt hydraulic power unit.

We measure from the finished floor to the lowest overhead obstruction, not just the peak of the ceiling, because that low duct or door track is usually the real limiting factor.
Four-post lifts and mid-rise scissor lifts have different clearance math depending on whether you’re adding a rolling jack or third-party lift on the platform.
