Most shop owners think about their two post lift in terms of weight capacity and column integrity, but the arms are the part actually doing the moving work every single lift cycle. Every time a technician swings an arm out, sets it under a pinch weld, and raises the vehicle, the pins, sleeves, and locking mechanisms take a load cycle. Over thousands of cycles a year, that hardware wears. A two post arm inspection is how you catch that wear before it becomes a failure instead of after.

We’ve seen shops run lifts for a decade without ever pulling an arm to check the pin and sleeve tolerance underneath.
