Every owner wants to talk brand first, and we understand that instinct, but sequencing is what actually determines whether your shop runs smoothly for the next fifteen years. An auto lift is the anchor point of the whole bay. Once it’s set, your air lines, your electrical drops, your tool carts, and your traffic pattern for pulling a customer’s car in and out all get built around it. If you decide on the lift after the concrete is poured and the walls are framed, you’re stuck retrofitting instead of designing.

We tell every shop owner the same thing: pick the auto lift model before you finalize bay width, door height, and electrical panel location. A Rotary two-post with adequate lifting height for shock and strut work needs clearance most standard garage doors were never built for. If you’re doing alignment work in the same bay, you also need to think about whether a drive-on rack style setup makes more sense next to a standard two-post, since alignment and suspension work often overlap on the same vehicles coming through your door.
