Identify your BendPak lift model
BendPak’s naming convention is short. HD = 4-post storage/service. XPR = 2-post. GP = general-purpose 2-post/4-post. MD = mid-rise scissor. Numbers indicate capacity in thousands of pounds. HD-9 = 9,000 lb 4-post, HD-14 = 14,000 lb 4-post, XPR-10 = 10,000 lb 2-post, XPR-12 = 12,000 lb 2-post. Letter suffixes cover variants: XL (extra long), LP (low profile), C (clearfloor / no baseplate), TSL (extra-tall). The data tag is on the powerside column for 2-posts and on a runway for 4-posts. Snap a phone photo of the tag with the serial number visible — that’s the first thing we ask for.
HD-9 and HD-14 — 4-post storage and service parts
The HD-9 (9,000 lb) and HD-14 (14,000 lb) are the workhorse BendPak 4-posts in home garages and small shops. The most-called bendpak lift parts here are lifting cables (four per lift, all the same length and diameter within a model), slack safeties, latch bars and latch springs, air-line kits for the release circuit, screw pads, and drive-over ramps. Rolling jacks (RJ-45, RJ-7000 style) have their own wear parts — rollers, chains, hydraulic hoses. Order cables as a full set of four when one shows fatigue; the labor to change one is roughly the same as four.
XPR-10 and XPR-12 — 2-post parts
The XPR-10 (10,000 lb) and XPR-12 (12,000 lb) 2-posts are common in independent shops and serious home garages. Fast-moving bendpak lift parts here include equalizer cables, cylinder seal kits, arm-restraint pin kits, lock release air cylinders, complete lock ladders, and screw pads. Symmetric and asymmetric versions exist and cable routing revised during production, so serial matters. XPR-10AS (asymmetric) and XPR-10S (symmetric) don’t cross-order on cables. Clearfloor XPR-10CL variants have a top-plate hydraulic line that adds a couple of parts to the shelf.
Cables — the most-replaced BendPak part
Cable inspection is required every 90 days per ALI, and cables are the single most common of the bendpak lift parts we ship for 4-posts and 2-posts. On 4-posts you have four cables and they wear together — replace as a full set. On 2-posts, replace equalizer cables in pairs on symmetric frames. Real cable failure shows as broken wires, kinks, corrosion, or unequal arm/runway travel that doesn’t correct after re-tension. Cables are ALI-recognized equivalents — nothing generic on safety hardware.
Locks, latches, and safety hardware
BendPak lifts use lock-ladder pawl systems similar in principle to other major brands: a toothed rack in each column, a pawl that drops in, and an air cylinder that pulls the pawl for release. What actually fails on these bendpak lift parts is the pawl spring, the air cylinder, the air-line fittings, or the release cable that ties columns together. The ladder itself almost never fails. Chase symptoms in that order — start with air pressure at the FRL. On 4-posts, latch bars and springs are the analog and follow the same troubleshooting pattern. Replacement latch springs and pawl kits are inexpensive, ship flat rate, and belong on any BendPak shop’s shelf.
Hydraulics and power units
BendPak 2-post cylinders are long-lived and, like other brands, most ‘cylinder problems’ are seal kits or contamination — not failed cylinders. Cylinder-family bendpak lift parts (seal kits, plunger assemblies, rod nuts, breather caps) are all inexpensive to keep on the shelf and cover the top 90 percent of hydraulic service calls. External weep and a clean plunger = seal kit. Scored plunger or bent rod = full cylinder. On any lift more than a decade old, if you’re inside for seals and the plunger has visible pitting, put a new cylinder in. Power units drop in cleanly when they get tired — motor draws hard, low pressure, hard-to-hold pressure. Buy the unit with a can of AW-32 or AW-46 so you can do it in one trip.

Common parts: bead-loosener seals, air cylinders, mount/demount heads, drive belts on balancers, calibration weights, and cones. How to identify your BendPak lift for parts ordering
BendPak lift parts availability is generally decent but the lookup process is the make-or-break step. Every BendPak lift has a serial plate on one of the columns showing the model number, serial, and rated capacity. Get the plate photo before you call – it saves a huge amount of back-and-forth. The BendPak model tells us the parts family: XPR-series 2-post lifts use one parts catalog, HDS-series heavy-duty 2-posts use another, and their 4-post lifts (HD-series) are a third family. Bendpak lift parts also change across production revisions within a model, so the year of manufacture matters when the lift is more than five years old.
