Why Express Lube Bay Layout Starts With Traffic Flow, Not the Lift

Most shop owners default to buying the lift first and figuring out the room around it second. We flip that. The first question in any express lube bay layout conversation is: which direction does the car enter, and which direction does it leave? A drive-through configuration — car in one door, out the other — is the gold standard for express lube because it eliminates backing up, eliminates cross-traffic with waiting customers, and lets a tech work top and bottom without ever repositioning the vehicle.
