Vehicle collectors in southwest Iowa are asking for a scissor lift for automotive service more often than a two-post, and after installing dozens of these in private garages we understand why. We added a small subpanel adjacent to the scissor rather than run 40 feet of conduit back to the main. Total install stretched to about seven hours with the electrical rework.
He also learned during commissioning that the safety-cam engagement sound is louder than he expected. The mechanical locks click into position every 2 inches on the way up, and each click echoes in a pole building. Nothing wrong with it, just a first-time-owner surprise. Months three through five: settling in

That is fine structurally, but it means the drain pan under the diff sits a few inches inside the platform footprint, and he had to reach past the platform edge to catch fluid. Month nine: maintenance and consumables
By month nine he had cycled the lift several hundred times and it needed its first fluid top-off.
