If those anchors aren’t torqued to spec, the base plate can rock under load, the columns can shift out of parallel, and in a worst case the lift can tip. We’ve seen anchors that were snugged by hand and called good, and we’ve seen the opposite — anchors cranked so hard the concrete around the hole started to spall. Both extremes create the same problem: a connection that isn’t doing its job.
