Challenger and the Missouri Parts Warehouse

Challenger runs a slightly leaner lineup than Rotary, and their build quality on the two-post commercial line is honestly a hair above what the price would suggest. The Rotary SPO10 runs a 145-inch overall height on the standard-column option, and the Challenger CL10 comes in at 144 inches, which means neither one will fit a 12-foot sidewall pole building without ordering the low-ceiling variant. Both use a chain-over-sheave cable equalizer, so parts logic transfers between the two if a mechanic is already familiar with one brand.
Where they differ is arm design. The SPO10 uses three-stage front arms and two-stage rear arms, and the CL10 uses three-stage on both sides, which gives it slightly more reach on the rear pinch weld of a longer chassis. For a fleet running Ford F-150 SuperCrew trucks all day, the CL10 rear reach is quietly useful. Pricing on both is within a few hundred dollars of each other at MAP. When we quote a car lift for a northwest Iowa fleet, we generally let the customer’s parts habits decide the brand.
Why Car Lift Brand History Matters for Fleets
Brand history is not sentimental. It is the difference between calling a distributor at 8 a.m. and having a hydraulic power unit on the way that afternoon, or waiting nine weeks for a container from Asia while a truck sits on the deck of a dead lift. When a fleet operator commits to a lift purchase, that decision echoes for the next twenty years of parts orders, service calls, and cable replacements. Choosing on price alone at year zero is a mistake we have watched customers make and then regret at year seven.
CV Axle and Half-Shaft Work on a Two-Post
CV axle replacement is the bread-and-butter of a fleet garage running any modern all-wheel-drive or front-wheel-drive vehicle, and it is one of the jobs where car lift arm geometry matters more than horsepower. Both the SPO10 and the CL10 give you the drop-down front arms that let you pull a half-shaft without the arm interfering with the inner CV joint housing. On the Rotary, the pinch-weld pad is a solid steel cup that seats reliably on a 2018 Ford F-150. On the Challenger, the pad is a hardened rubber over a steel cup, which is slightly kinder to a factory pinch-weld coating.
What is not fine is trying to do CV axle work on a low-ceiling scissor lift or a mid-rise, and we tell fleet customers this constantly. If half-shaft work is a weekly job for your shop, spend the money on a two-post and do not try to save floor space with a mid-rise. The lift height and open-under access on a full-column two-post are what make CV axle work fast, and speed on that job pays back the price difference in less than one year of billed labor. We watch fleets try to shortcut this, and we watch them replace the shortcut lift within three years.

When a Rotary or Challenger part comes up dead on a Tuesday morning in Sioux Center, our parts pipeline starts with our own inventory in Ames.
