Capacity Math That Actually Protects Your Fleet

We tell every fleet manager the same thing: rate the lift to your heaviest vehicle plus a real safety margin, not the average of your fleet. A 10,000 lb lift feels like plenty until someone drives a loaded box truck onto it during a busy week. Iowa winters also add unaccounted weight — plow packages, sand or salt loads, and heavier tires all push actual vehicle weight above the spec sheet number. Build in margin rather than cutting it close.

Beyond raw capacity, check arm reach and lift height against your tallest and longest vehicle.
