The BendPak HD-14 is a 14,000-pound four-post lift that lands in the sweet spot between a serious home garage and a working commercial bay. Independent shops, dealer service departments, and heavy-truck hobbyists all run one, which means demand for bendpak hd-14 parts stays steady from the day the lift installs to well past its ten-year mark. This guide covers what the HD-14 actually is, the wear items you should expect to replace, how to identify your exact revision, cable and lock service, hydraulic parts, and installation notes. Call 800-674-9302 if you want a live look-up while you have the data tag in front of you.

What the HD-14 is and why it stays in service so long

The HD-14 is BendPak’s flagship 14,000-pound four-post lift built with standard runway length and standard runway width, powered by a single hydraulic cylinder and a four-cable equalization system. Its defining feature is ALI certification combined with a runway design low enough to accept most passenger cars while still handling loaded three-quarter and one-ton pickups. A properly maintained HD-14 will run for decades, which is why bendpak hd-14 parts demand is heavier on wear items than on structural components. The columns, base rails, and runways themselves rarely need replacement — everything else is normal service. Rolling jacks, caster kits, and drive-over ramps are optional add-ons that come in and out of service on their own schedule.

Common wear items and inspection intervals

ALI recommends quarterly inspection on every commercial lift and the HD-14 is no exception. On a 90-day inspection cycle, the fast-moving bendpak hd-14 parts we ship are lifting cables (four per lift, all the same specification within a model), slack-safety latch bars and latch springs, air-line release-circuit fittings and hoses, screw pads, and drive-over ramp bumpers. Annually you should be looking at hydraulic fluid, cylinder seals if you see any weep, and caster kit wheels if the lift is portable. Rolling jack rollers, chains, and hoses are separate wear items on their own schedule and are worth pricing at the same time you order cables so they land in one shipment.

Identifying your HD-14 the fast way

BendPak revised the HD-14 several times during its production run, and the serial number is what tells us which cable length, latch bar, and hydraulic line to send. The data tag lives on one of the columns near the powerside. Photograph it with the serial number visible and send it with your order — that is the fastest single thing you can do to guarantee correct bendpak hd-14 parts the first time. BendPak’s own Support > Replacement Parts page uses that same serial-based lookup pattern, and our parts desk mirrors it. If you cannot find the tag, a photo of the whole lift plus the year purchased usually narrows the revision.

OEM vs aftermarket parts

Every safety-critical part we ship is either genuine BendPak or ALI-recognized equivalent — cables, latch pawls, latch springs. Everything you cross an OSHA or ALI checklist against is certified. For non-safety wear like screw pads, rubber bumpers, hydraulic fittings, or drive-over ramp rubber, aftermarket equivalents can save real money and hold up equally well. When in doubt, we steer you to OEM without upselling. Our broader logic on OEM-versus-aftermarket for this brand lives in the BendPak lift parts buyers guide.

Cables, cylinders, and locks for the HD-14

Four-post lifts equalize load through cables, and the HD-14 uses four of them running column to column through overhead sheaves. Signs a cable is due include broken wires visible under a rag wipe, kinks, obvious corrosion at the ends, or unequal runway travel that will not correct after tension adjustment. Replace all four bendpak hd-14 parts as a set — the labor is the same and mismatched wear is what causes the next failure. The HD-14 cylinder is long-lived; most “cylinder problems” turn out to be seal kits or fluid contamination. Latch pawls and their springs are inexpensive and belong on any HD-14 shop’s shelf. Deeper cable theory lives in our car lift cables guide and cylinder logic in the hydraulic cylinder for car lift reference.

Installation and long-term service notes

The HD-14 is a four-post lift, which means it stands freestanding on its base rails and does not have to anchor to the slab the way a two-post does. That said, the concrete under it still has to be sound, level, and thick enough for the loaded footprint. When you re-cable or re-seal, level the runways front-to-back and side-to-side before the first lift under load, and cycle the lift several times to seat new cables. Air-release circuits need clean, dry shop air at the FRL — the number one call we get on locks not releasing is low or wet shop air, not a bad pawl. Fresh AW-32 or AW-46 fluid at every cylinder service is cheap insurance.

Sibling BendPak models to consider

If your HD-14 no longer fits the vehicles you park on it, BendPak has the ten-thousand-pound HD-9 for lighter passenger duty, extended-length variants like the HDSO-14AX for long-wheelbase trucks, and the heavier HDS-18E and HD-27 for full commercial work. Parts do not cross between capacity classes — an HD-14 cable is not an HD-9 cable — but the service logic is identical. For a broader look at the four-post product line and its parts logic, see the 4-post lift parts guide.

Ordering bendpak hd-14 parts

Best order: photo of the data tag with model and serial visible, plus a photo of the broken part. From there we pull the right bendpak hd-14 parts in a minute. Browse the stocked catalog at other aftermarket lift parts or search a specific number in parts lookup. If a repair bill is climbing past the value of the lift, we will say so honestly rather than sell you the kit anyway. Call 800-674-9302 for a live look-up — we ship bendpak hd-14 parts daily out of Iowa and the parts desk answers in person, not through a menu tree.
